A blessing

Today I had the chance to be a blessing to an old man. I was just getting on my lunch break at work and driving to the store for lunch and I see this little old man walking so slow that snails are passing him like he is standing still. He was walking with a cane and 3 bags of groceries. I drove past him but kept hearing a voice inside saying, "Help him, if you don't get lunch for once, it is ok, it won't take long and you will be doing a great deed." So I backed my car up and asked him if he would like a ride home. He was only about 4 blocks away but with his speed it would have taken 30 to 60 minutes to get home and it was freezing out. His nose was all runny. I felt so bad for him. It only took at most 5 minutes to get him home and he was so grateful to me. He said, "You're a Doll! Thanks so much. Have a Great Day!" I felt like a million bucks once I was done doing my good deed. It is great to be a blessing to those in need. So I challenge you to go out and be a blessing to someone. You will not regret it.

It is a blessing to be able to bless others, isn't it? I think this is why many Bible studies flow along the theme that we are "blessed to be a blessing" just like what God said to Abraham in Genesis 12.
